Jackie Borozan

Jackie brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, and small business management to her role as Executive Director of the Housing Trust of Benzie. She is passionate about building partnerships and connections between people and across organizations and sectors. Jackie enjoys hiking and reading and traveling and exploring with her husband Chris. Margie DeVine

Margie brings over 30 years of deep insight into the nonprofit sector. Her journey began at Lurie Children's in Chicago, IL, where she contributed to transformative campaigns during her 20-year tenure. Since 2006, as the driving force behind DeVine Consulting, Margie has focused on understanding the unique dynamics of nonprofits, emphasizing the importance of people, culture, and productivity in fostering organizational success. This manifests in her consulting practice, which specializes in fundraising counsel, leadership coaching, and talent search.

BOARD VICE PRESIDENT

Bree McGregor

Bree is a professional writer who leverages persuasive communication and rigorous research skills to convey the Housing Trust’s mission to a broad audience. She has nearly two decades of experience conducting research and publishing projects for academic, military, and nonprofit organizations, and she holds a doctorate in writing and rhetoric. When she isn’t wrangling run-on sentences and finessing funding proposals, she’s happily adventuring with her family—on the lake, through the sky, within the woods, and among the pages of a good book.

Andrew Brickman

Andrew offers strategic and sustainable planning skills and has a history of working with non-profit organizations. He works in the investment industry helping small business owners to reposition and grow companies. Andrew and his wife Donna have spent most of their lives coming to the Frankfort area and recently became full time residents.

BOARD SECRETARY

Neil Brilliant

Neil is retired from a 30-plus year career as a labor and employment attorney. He brings analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to HTB's decision-making and formal documentation. Neil and his wife, Kathy, purchased a house in the Frankfort area in 2018 and split their time 50/50 between Frankfort and Chicago. During the Covid pandemic, Neil saw housing prices in the Frankfort area skyrocket, creating a housing affordability crisis for those attempting to work in the area. In the summer, you'll see Neil on Monday mornings volunteering at the front desk at the Oliver Art Center and on Saturdays selling his wife's pottery and his daughter's watercolor prints at the Frankfort Farmers Market.

Tim Jones

Tim is a powerhouse vocalist and designated entertainer/emcee at land trust events. Tim combined his love and knowledge of the stage to take on talent buying and production management of the Garden Theater in Frankfort, Ml with his wife, Katie Jones, who is the Executive Director of the non-profit that owns it. Tim and Katie have full hearts with three daughters and a home in Frankfort.

Kaitlin Matesich

Kaitlin is a librarian at Benzie Shores District Library and a new land trust resident homeowner. She can attest to the struggle of finding long-term housing in northwestern Michigan. "I strongly believe in the mission of HTB, and as an individual who has personally benefited from the work of the land trust, I feel I bring a unique perspective to the board. I'm excited to be a part of HTB as we work to bring more opportunity and stability to those looking to work and live in Frankfort." Known for her buoyant and optimistic demeanor, Kaitlin can often be found with her partner, Ernesto, at local trivia competitions when she's not curled up with a good book.

Stephanie Williams

Stephanie brings a public health perspective to the Housing Trust of Benzie. In her role at Munson Healthcare, she works on projects that aim to improve the health and well-being of communities across northern Michigan. She believes that housing is health and approaches these complex challenges with a systems-thinking mindset. Stephanie feels lucky to call Benzie County home and is happiest when outdoors chasing her two young children.

Jay White

Jay is the fearless, indispensable leader of HTB. Although semi-retired and serving the housing needs of Benzie County through the Frankfort Housing Commission, he oversees home construction, land procurement and sales for HTB. Jay's background includes small business ownership in Frankfort, a 27 year career at Crystal Mountain as VP of Sales and member of the Development team, and passionate girls volleyball coach at Frankfort High School. He and his wife Jody raised three children in Frankfort. He enjoys boating, golf, volleyball, traveling, community involvement and spending time with friends, family and eleven grandchildren outside his busy land trust efforts.

Ryan Fiebing

Ryan is an architect with a strong interest in urban planning and the role that density and incremental development plays in solving the housing crisis. He is originally from Traverse City and moved to Elberta in 2021, where he quickly got involved with the local planning commission and the village council (first as appointed trustee, then as an elected one, in 2024). He hopes that by participating in local government and nonprofit organizations like HTB he can help provide solutions to the hardships his peers face in trying to find housing and a stable future living in Northern Michigan. When he's not working or volunteering, he's making sculptural artworks and finishing up his extensive renovations of an 1870s-era house in the Village.
